Reading Practice
Here's what we see.
Most kids start school loving books. They borrow, they read, they get excited. But by Year 4, things change. Life speeds up. Reading slows down. By high school, screens win and books lose.
At the same time, young people are swimming in content but sinking in confusion. They’re reading constantly, just not with purpose, joy, or the skills to question what they see. Some even take pride in not reading at all. That’s a problem.
Actually, there are two. A sharp drop in reading. And an overwhelming rise in information without guidance.
Reading Practice meets both. And we’re good at it.
We help young people reconnect with books and stories that build empathy. And we teach them to make sense of the media and messages all around them.
Reading isn’t just for school. It’s for life.

Our Clients
Reading Practice
Reading Practice starts with the whole child.
Their interests, their questions, their spark. Sometimes it’s a genre that finally clicks. Sometimes it’s a graphic novel, a connection to sport, a film, or a thought that lingers. We pay attention to what lights them up.
We work with what’s around them, using fiction, non-fiction, media, visual texts, audio and digital resources to help those sparks grow. We use stories to reconnect young people with reading, and we build the tools they need to make sense of the world around them. Information literacy is woven through it all. We help kids recognise credible sources, unpack what they see online, and ask sharper questions for skills that matter as much as reading itself.
